A unique Gourmet experience in the Heart of Sarajevo



Chef Fabricio Vežnaver, Chef of the year 2021 by Gault & Millau Croatia, prepared the gala dinner for the guests of the Heart of Sarajevo Awards ceremony for TV series. A new category awarded for the first time at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

In order to encourage the production of the highest quality regional series and their international promotion, the festival management included 16 series from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Northern Macedonia to compete for the Heart of Sarajevo Awards. Their authors, actresses and actors gathered at Hotel Holiday in Sarajevo. The ceremony was led by Tarik Filipović. Chef Vežnaver and his wife Ljiljana, in charge of the pastries, arrived in Sarajevo from the little Istrian village of Zambratija, in Croatia, where they run a famous fine-dining restaurant "Pergola", one of the best Croatian restaurants. They prepared some of their well known fish dishes for the eighty guests of the exclusive dinner: "Sea Pearl" and "Sea Foam" from scallops, or rhombus fillets, while in the dish named "Istria and Visoko are in Love" they combined a famous steak from a local meat producer from Visoko to the Istrian black truffle. “Sweet Dreams" - a white chocolate dessert with pistachios and blueberries together with the Buntić winery’s premium wines from Međugorje completed the gourmet experience at the Heart of Sarajevo Awards ceremony for the best TV series.

The best drama series was "The Family", the best comedy was "The Diary of Great Perica", the best creator was Bojan Vuletić (“The Family”), the Heart of Sarajevo for the Rising Star went to Ivana Zečević (“The Group”), while in the category of the best actress and the best actor the awards went to the married couple Jasna Đuričić (“The Group”) and Boris Isaković (“The Family”).
