Lonely Planet, one of the world's most popular travel guides has already recognised and named the Croatian Kvarner as one of the world's ''Top 10'' regions worth visiting. In addition, Kvarner received one of the greatest tourist titles overall, the ''Best in Travel 2020''.

What stands out this year as one of Kvarner's best attributes – is the food and wine scene, which keeps on attracting more and more guests. The Kvarner is known for the Kvarner Bay Scampi (langoustine), šurlice hand-made pasta, succulent lamb from the island of Cres, forest mushrooms and chestnuts, wild asparagus, figs and sweet cherries, and a unique white wine called Žlahtina, made from a grape variety that grows on the island of Krk around the small town of Vrbnik, and on the opposite mainland coast near Novi Vinodolski.

Quality Labels: Kvarner Gourmet, Kvarner Food, Kvarner Wines

It is as if the Kvarner was made in the dreams of gourmands, with over 30 acknowledged and awarded restaurants and 'konobas' included in the gastro guide Gault&Millau Croatia, which offer their guests the smells and favours of the Kvarner Bay and its islands. And now, thanks to the new quality labels, everyone will easily recognise the highest quality of culinary innovations with the ''Kvarner Gourmet'' label, the best tasting traditional delicacies with the ''Kvarner Food'', or the top-notch wineries and tasting rooms with the ''Kvarner Wines'' label.

Volosko – the epicentre of Kvarner's gastronomy

In July of 2021., the tourist portal European Best Destinations has awarded the small fishing town of Volosko as one of Europe's ''Hidden Gems''. Despite the pretty tough competition, many of Europe's gems can't beat the number of excellent, award-winning, well-known restaurants. Eight of them, all a short walk apart from one another, at the dreamy seafront promenade – lungomare.

Stars, toques, and more than that….Kvarner has it all!

Michelin stars and recommendations for authentic Kvarner restaurants, Gault&Millau toques for best restaurants and chefs, the JRE, as well as the Kvarner Gourmet designations. Traditional konobas, international restaurants, luxury and authentic simplicity, Mediterranean ambience, seasonal produce, from farm and sea to table. This is more than you need to truly grasp the aromas and tastes of the Kvarner. And the number of excellent places to dine keeps on growing: at the top floor of the newly opened Hotel Hilton Costabella Resort & Spa, the young Chef Deni Srdoč runs his new restaurant Nebo; and at Hotel Ikador’s restaurant Nobilion, prepared to be amazed by the gustatory delights, made by Chef Dino Knežević, the ‘’Young Talent of the Year 2021’’ by Gault&Millau Croatia.
