L'avis de Gault&Millau
The Adriatic restaurant is located in one of the most attractive places in Split, with the most magnificent view of the harbour and the islands of Brač and Šolta, just above the marina. Next to the restaurant, on the terrace, there is a pizzeria called Skypper, which offers delicious pizzas from the bread oven. There is also a cocktail lounge Baluni, where you can enjoy some great drinks. The cuisine of the restaurant is based on Mediterranean food. They prepare many local delicacies, but sometimes take an exploratory route and produce some more exotic dishes. For example, they offer spring rolls with shrimp, chicken and sweet and sour sauce. But we decided to start with tuna tartare served with rosemary mayonnaise, a simple but exciting combination of aromatic herbs and tuna. If you are hungry, we recommend ordering macaroni with beefsteak, a hearty dish with pieces of meat, pancetta, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes with the addition of walnuts. The dish is delicious and so filling that you won’t be able to eat much afterwards. Risotto with shrimp tails and pine nuts is also nice. We also ordered sea bass fillet with thinly sliced vegetables, polenta and mussel and prawn sauce. The fish was cooked well, and the sauce only enhanced the flavours and aromas of the sea. The wine list of Adriatic features predominantly Dalmatian and Istrian wines, but there are also Slavonian Graševina wines. Their house wine is also quite good. We suggest that you visit the restaurant in the evening hours to enjoy a nice meal and a glass of fine wine with a magical sunset over the sea.
