The Bokeria restaurant by its very name, reminiscent of a large market in Barcelona, gives us an indication of what it is all about. Good ingredients, local products, excellent design of the dishes and of the whole space. Each guest will enjoy not only the food but also the atmosphere of the attractive ambience. Located in the very center of Split, in a beautiful building, the restaurant will attract you with several large glass doors through which you can see the spacious interior with extremely high ceilings. If you are walking around the city, you will surely come across Bokeria, which offers the possibility of a light meal at any time of the day. As soon as you enter you will see many prosciuttos hanging over a large bar, glasses, bottles of wine and jars full of various local products and they are not only there as an advertisement, but also as a great decoration. The dishes are carefully arranged, tasty and nicely pesented. They take care of your health too. That’s why they offer a great garlic soup. A strong, creamy soup is served with croutons and cheese. At first it seemed too intense in flavour, but it wasn’t. It was just delicious and healthy. We also tasted their beef carpaccio, with all the toppings and spices. Nothing too much and nothing too little. A special recommendation is lamb, which is farm grown, excellently prepared and which is otherwise one of the flagships of the Mediterranean diet. On this dish, meat lovers will come into their own because the portion is rich. The lamb shank was soft and tasty and was served with vegetables and polenta with gorgonzola. The only remark relates to their version of soparnik (the traditional Dalmatian pie with chard and garlic), which is still better in the original and did not justify the experiment. We sweetened the lunch with a nice chocolate soufflé with wild berries. Bokeria will certainly not disappoint you and you will enjoy your time in the restaurant.
