Hidden from the view of passers-by, the Bonaca restaurant in Skradin is a true oasis of peace in the summer season, when many tourists occupy this beautiful town in the Krka canyon. Bonaca has a spacious, nicely decorated hall and a covered comfortable terrace. The restaurant is run by the third generation of the Bulat family. They also offer accommodation in a nearby villa of the same name. The Bulat are engaged in fishing, so in their restaurant you can get fresh fish and seafood from the daily catch. Due to the brackish waters - the combination of fresh water from the river Krka and the sea - the local fish and shellfish are among the most delicious in this part of the coast. This is exactly what they offer at Bonaca, together with a simple cuisine that will allow you to feel at the best the pure, natural taste of the food. In addition to fish specialties the restaurant serves traditional Dalmatian cuisine and local dishes such as Skradin risotto. We immediately ordered the čokalice. These delicious little fried fish from Prokljan Lake are simply irresistible and you should not miss them. Along with them, be sure to order the škijuni, a local name for fried tiger prawns, which can be tasted only in Skradin. We continued with their homemade fish soup, delicious as always, and after that with grilled mixed shells and squid. Fresh, perfectly grilled, almost without spices, with just a little olive oil. Simply great. Just like the unique Skradin cake we had at the end to sweeten our meal. It is a traditional dessert of this region, prepared with walnuts and almonds, eggs, honey, lemon and orange peel, Prošek (sweet wine from Dalmatia) and rose liqueur, chocolate and sweet cream, and its main characteristic is that there is no flour. The wine list offers a large selection of Croatian winemakers, and we advise you to taste house wines, Merlot and Debit wines from nearby local winemakers. Bonaca deserved the second Gault&Millau toque. A place to recommend.
