L'avis de Gault&Millau
Restaurant Cantinetta in Skradin, a favorite destination of domestic and foreign tourists where it is always difficult to get a table, this time, unfortunately, was half empty. Sitting outside was pleasant as always, but there was a lack of warmth from the people at the neighboring tables, which was due to the necessary distance required by epidemiological measures. The service was fast, although it seemed to us that they themselves were surprised by the unusual situation. The waiter, who is usually very professional and efficient when the restaurant is full, forgot to bring one dish. Later it was made up for with a free dessert. We started lunch with a great appetizer. Tris of shrimp, čokalice (fried local little fish from the brackish waters of Lake Prokljan) and cuttlefish prepared on a frying pan with well-grilled arugula. Always fresh and finely fried they were delicious. We continued with the shells: a local sort of vongole and mussels on buzara style. Fresh, full of meat, with the taste of the sea, but a little overseasoned and oversalted. The portion was more than plentiful so we skipped the pasta dishes and went for the meat. Beefsteak in truffle cream was a good choice. The meat was excellently roasted, juicy and soft, and the sauce was creamy and rich in truffles. We also tasted the lamb from Bukovica with potatoes and caramelized onions. The high quality meat was very tasty, maybe a little overbaked, so it became dry. We couldn’t leave without sweetening ourselves with the rich Skradin cake. A great finish that lifted the atmosphere and made us feel good with the desire to come again.
