L'avis de Gault&Millau
The restaurant is located in the heart of Baranja at the entrance to Kopački rit Nature Park, and within the eponymous family-run farm with apartments for tourists. It all exudes a family atmosphere: lots of authentic details hung on the walls, friendly hosts, smiling and patient waiters even though the restaurant was full, the scent of home-cooked food. The fish and meat menu are equally rich, and the vegetable side dishes are a great choice for vegetarians. In fact, here you always need to eat only authentic local dishes, just to remind yourself how beautiful and rich the cuisine Slavonia and Baranja regions is. For an appetiser, we tried carp chips, homemade cracklings and pate cracklings with hot buns. We continued our lunch with “fiš paprikaš”- spicy fish stew with homemade wide noodles, and then we tasted fish platter with three types of river fish. Catfish, carp and perch are prepared baked, fried in breadcrumbs and in beer dough with croquettes and boiled potatoes, and freshly mixed salads. We also tasted an extremely soft and delicious deer steak with vegetables and bread rolls. All the servings are more than generous. Each of them is enough for two persons. Dessert was hardly needed but we couldn’t resist homemade walnut and poppy coated pasta, traditional sweet of unique taste. In the beautifully decorated wine cellar of Didin konak you can taste a hundred Baranja wines, and we drank a well-chilled house-made graševina for lunch. Pleasant atmosphere, fast service, fresh and tasty food and reasonable prices are a good reason to recommend this place for two, but also for larger company.
