L'avis de Gault&Millau

Restaurant DiVino has one of the most beautiful views in Hvar. Located on the waterfront, where catamarans dock, DiVino has a beautiful terrace overlooking the harbour with moored yachts and the sunny Pakleni islands. If you go to dinner be sure to catch the sunset. As the name of the restaurant says, their story revolved around wine. They choose the labels of well-known producers with special care, but they also constantly discover new, small wineries in order to enable their guests to get to know wines from different Croatian regions. All the wines they serve can be purchased at their store, on the ground floor of the restaurant. The kitchen is run by a young but experienced chef Nataša Vukmirović, who likes to work with local, seasonal ingredients, especially fish and seafood. The menu is not too big. They offer fish specialties, but also meat dishes such as an excellent beef tartare. We tasted their black risotto that was great. Extremely black, with an intense taste of the sea. We also liked the grilled octopus, actually roasted octopus tentacles, served with octopus meatballs and chickpea puree. It is one of their traditional dishes that always pleasantly surprises us. In DiVino it is possible to order a tasting menu of 5 or 7 courses, according to the chef’s choice and together they offer a perfect wine pairing. For dessert, we chose a dark chocolate soufflé, with white chocolate cream and raspberry sauce, a classic combination of bitter dark chocolate, sweet white chocolate cream and sour raspberries. The staff is professional and the wine list is rich. If you want a dinner for two, DiVino is the right address for you. Book a table on time.
