L'avis de Gault&Millau

Located on a boat on the Drava River along the famous promenade of Osijek, it is only a few minutes away from the central town square. It can be reached on foot, by car and by public transport. From the restaurant, both from the summer terrace and from the closed part, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the river and its right bank. The restaurant boasts of river fish dishes such as fish paprikash and perkelt and catfish, perch and carp prepared in various ways, but also of meat and venison dishes, among which stand out excellent steak and a variety of grilled dishes. Mostly Slavonian and Baranja wines are on offer. For appetiser we ordered homemade pasta with chicken and chilli, a dish of special taste, so we recommend it to those who do not normally eat fish or meat or want to eat something lighter. The catfish perkelt was good and served in the traditional way with pasta, fresh cheese and bits of fried bacon. Rumpsteak was baked as we wished, a simple dish of good texture and flavor. A beautifully served desserts - a reinterpretation of homemade apple pie with a very tasty cream, and the mascarpone cream with forest berries - are refreshing and to recommend. Galija is a great place for a romantic getaway for two, but also for business lunches and dinners and larger celebrations such as weddings.
