In the Korčula bay Zavalatica, in the small town Čara, there is a family tavern whose terrace offers a beautiful view of the open sea and part of the bay. While you are waiting for food or your place on the terrace, it is enough to go down a few steps and cool off in the crystal clear sea, thus completing the experience of enjoying the freshness. Because in this tavern you can count on fresh fish and seafood prepared by the owner and head chef. He will be happy to show you the catch of the day, recommend what to choose, and you can watch him prepare your meal on the grill. They also offer a good selection of meat dishes, risottos and pasta, and we recommend the traditional Korčula specialty - handmade Žrnovo macaroni. For the main course, we chose a mixed fish platter. The wine offer is not large, but you won’t go wrong with the local Pošip. If you decide to spend a day in this fairy tale place, you can combine lunch or dinner with a visit to the nearby Krajančić winery. Delicious food, decent prices and the kindness of the family that runs the Albert tavern will entice you to come again.
