A small urban restaurant close to the main railway station has had a loyal city clientele for years, it is an ideal place for a glass of wine and a small snack. In addition to the standard offering of classics such as ribs with potato salad and cabbage or chicken wings in an orange, soy and honey marinade, Lari & Penati’s menu also accompanies the seasonal food offering. As appetiser, we ordered spinach quiche with blue cheese and nuts, and a goose liver pate served in a nice crock pot with toasted homemade bread. In the summer days, we definitely recommend a popular Italian dish of parmigiana. The combination of eggplant, tomato sauce and copious amounts of mozzarella is ideal for the heat. The young salad served with parmigiana comes as a great and refreshing addition. Lari & Penati has a very good selection of wines, most of which are Croatian wines from different regions, and most of them are also available by the glass.
