Thanks to a British enthusiast who renovated the former destitute episcopal palace, Lešić Dimitri Palace is a luxury boutique hotel with stylishly designed suites and an outstanding restaurant, led by a bold creative team. Although it was the end of the season, we reserved a table: we were greeted with a lovely seaside location and a cozy, friendly and discreet waitress and waiter who dedicatedly animate guests. We started with a warm focaccia with three different olive oils, which the waitress introduced to us. There are only five entrees on the menu, as many main courses and three different desserts, and it is possible to order 5 and 7 course tasting menus, but each individual dish is original and very thoughtfully designed, boldly created and perfectly served. We started with a fantastic reinterpretation of the Komiža bannock, and sashimi tuna with cherries and guacamole. Both entrees were of unique taste. We continued with two different main courses: Gambero rosso gyoza in mousselin chilli sauce with daikon and sesame, and Ocean steak- black angus premium beef, in estragon sauce, with beetroot and pumpkin. Fantastic experience! And with both desserts the pastry chef made sure for “sugar to come on top”. The sea - made of chocolate, caramel, cream, orange and sea salt - blended in with different flavours, while the second dessert Sun combined coconut panna cotta and blackberry crumble. Magnificent flavours! In addition to these incredible delicacies by Chef Marko Gajski and his team, we drank several different Korčula and Pelješac wines of indigenous varieties: we started Kra-jančić’s pošip, Grk by Bira and Korta Katarina’s plavac mali. Everything in this restaurant - from the quality of the food, the creativity of the cooking, the taste, to the impeccable service of the staff - justifies the high prices.
