As this year, due to the lockdown, we couldn’t unfortunately visit the restaurant Lola, we publish the review and the score by Gault&Millau Croatia 2020.
In one of the narrow streets of the island of Vis, there is a Tavern bar Lola. The beautiful garden, which houses tables, charming decoration and cosy ambience, are the main features of this small tavern that will fascinate you at first glance. At night, when the candles are lit, Lola becomes the ideal place for romantic dinners. Therefore, it is not surprising that the tavern is a popular destination for weddings, and that they have more and more inquiries from abroad. There are two types of menus on offer, one of 4 and one of 6 courses. Dishes often change depending on the season, but they are always creative and different from what is usually offered in the restaurants on Vis. Lola’s cuisine is a blend of Spanish and Dalmatian cuisine, with fish and meat meals dominating on the menu. We tasted the delicious pork belly, crispy cheese croquettes and cauliflower. All dishes were delicious, and we especially liked the shrimp ceviche. Adriatic raw shrimp marinated in citrus juice. In Lola, you can also just have a drink and spend a pleasant evening with a glass of good wine while enjoying the music. The friendly staff will advise you what works best for you. Prices are a bit higher, but you won’t regret it.
