Mini Bota Oyster & Sushi
L'avis de Gault&Millau
Mini Bota Oyster & Sushi bar is a small space, with a very few seats. It is located in the center of the old town of Split, within the walls of Diocletian’s Palace. Although, due to the lack of space conditions, it may be most practical to order dishes to take away - they have taken special care of good and elegant packaging - it is still best to taste what they offer on the spot. This primarily applies to iced oysters with lemon, which are, no question, the best and with which we started our meal. We continued with the crispy prawns in tempura, the tails of large scampi fried in a light, sparkling dough, which they prepared in front of us. They served them with a sweet and sour sauce. The tuna tartare was also excellent, nicely cleaned and finely chopped and served on arugula, capers and seasoned with a little olive oil. The freshness of the ingredients is especially visible when they prepare Sushi, Maki, and Sashimi that can match any good Japanese restaurant. They also created some of their own Japanese dishes like Nigiri Bota style. We certainly hope that this bar will soon move to a more adequate space so that we can fully enjoy their fish delicacies.
