Restaurant Nautika is located in Pile, and from its terrace offers a unique view of the fortresses Lovrijenac and Bokar. The halls of the restaurant located on two floors are equipped with stylish furniture and artwork and the place must be booked in advance. The menu is not large, but it is thoughtfully conceived, simple, and striking in appearance and taste, perfectly in harmony with the location and reputation. We tasted the five-course menu and began the nautical magic with tuna tartare, lightly spiced wasabi mayonnaise and garnished with dehydrated lemon powder and refined bruschettas drizzled with olive oil. This was followed by a refreshing fish soup on a bed of fresh fish, served with toast with prawns mousse. The prawns were an integral part of the next dish as well, served on polenta with young goat cheese cream and almond flakes, lightly drizzled with olive oil. The new sequence was excellent, a common dentex fillet on a bed of cherry tomatoes and young spinach, with vanilla cream and olive oil. The sommelier for olive oils presented a different type of domestic varieties with each dish, which paired very well with the prepared dishes. We ended the dinner with an imaginative, delicious dessert of orange and “prošek” (domestic dessert wine), served in a cube of gelatine on a brittle base, while the cream was dominated by the taste of homemade citrus. In the end, the hosts honoured us with “narbetto”, a special digestive, actually pomegranate sorbet. We left the choice of wines to an extremely pleasant sommelier, and from the wine list of several hundreds local and world labels, he chose for us the local wine Grk of the winemaker Bire and Cabernet of the winery Korak. Nautica is an expensive restaurant, but each segment of the service justifies the price: creativity, respect for tradition, quality of food, presentation and impeccable service, complete the gastronomic experience.
