L'avis de Gault&Millau
It doesn’t happen often that a hotel restaurant with its cuisine, atmosphere and quality of service manages to attract not just the guests staying at the hotel, but locals as well. The charming ReUnion, located in modern Canopy By Hilton in downtown Zagreb, ambitiously expands its gastronomic offer. ReUnion is ideal for both business and private brunch, as well as family lunch and the afternoon happy hour. On the menu you can find the Mediterranean and the traditional continental dishes. Fresh food from the Dolac city market and from local producers is on the menu. For appetiser we ordered a selection of 12 warm tapas including risotto pralines, pulled pork rolls, eggplant rolls stuffed with smoked cheese, and fried Camembert. We were delighted by the creative and tasteful combination of mari e monti flavours which put together the Continent and the Mediterranean. We shared the main course, a well done juicy Black Angus steak big enough for two persons. It was served with two side dishes: creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetable noodles. Pommery mustard sauce and truffles butter perfectly rounded off these combination of flavours and textures. We ended our lunch with a Bajadera, the ReUnion signature dessert. The wine list offers really wide selection of wine by the glass, from all the regions of Croatia, and we chose the Cabernet Sauvignon by Karizma. Thanks to the creative leadership of chef Marinko Topalović ReUnioin is growing into a serious restaurant. Its atmosphere is warm, the staff professional, and this is really a good value for money. ReUnion deserves a promotion and its first Gault&Millau toque.
