L'avis de Gault&Millau

In one of the narrow streets of Rovinj, in the old town not far from the port, there is Segutra, a relatively new restaurant on the local gastronomic scene. Segutra has indoor and outdoor space. During the summer nights people are queuing in front of the door to get a place. The restaurant itself is a bit overcrowded. There is not a lot of space between the tables so you have the feeling of eating in the company of the neighbours next to you. Maybe that’s why Segutra is not exactly the most appropriate place for a quiet dinner for two. If this is not a problem for you, then you will enjoy simple and good food and you will be served by friendly staff. The daily meals are written in chalk on a black board in front of the door. These are mainly fish and seafood, which are usually grilled, and their tempting smell attracts new guests. The fried fish tris with tuna, monkfish wrapped in bacon, sea bass fillet, cherry tomatoes and chard cooked in the Dalmatian way, with boiled potatoes, was very tasty. We loved the perfectly baked salmon fillet, with a crispy crust. The steak in green pepper sauce, with spiced, soft and juicy meat was delicious. They offer several sorts of white and red wines. This restaurant is especially loved by young people who look for simple but delicious Mediterranean cuisine.
