L'avis de Gault&Millau
As this year, due to the lockdown, we couldn’t unfortunately visit the restaurant Zlatna Ribica we publish the review and the score by Gault&Millau Croatia 2020.
Zlatna ribica (Gold fish) is one of the oldest family run restaurants in the area of Šibenik. The view of the unusual island of Krapanj and the wide view of the sea from the entire restaurant give Zlatna’s interior a true ship atmosphere. However we have a small remark regarding the decoration which has been the same for years. Some refreshment would be nice, as it would contribute to the gastronomic experience. Many years of experience in cooking and serving is the first winning card of this restaurant. Whether you come here in a large group, for family or business lunch, or even outside the usual dining time, Zlatna ribica will always give you a warm welcome. The stable quality of the food and the certitude of “no bad surprises” is their second winning card. You will enjoy the fine fish soup, with lots of delicious fish pieces inside, as well as their traditional Saint Jacques prepared with a little white wine, and the perfectly roasted fresh grilled fish. For dessert try their chocolate cake. The portion is not large, but it tastes great. It’s just as good as the traditional rožata, a sort of crème caramel. If you are coming during the Christmas or Easter holidays, you will be delighted by the rich offer of cod, whether it is traditional dishes (white and brodetto) or newer recipes such as a cod pâté or cod donuts. The wine list mainly contains well-known Croatian wine labels. The waiters are professional and friendly and will help you with the choice of food and wine. The owners, the Tudić family, have opened a small hotel next to the restaurant. All in all, Zlatna ribica is always a good choice.
