Gault&Millau Croatia at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival

Gault&Millau chef Orhan Cakiroglu created a special menu for the exclusive “Heart of Sarajevo” awards dinner for TV series at the Sarajevo Film Festival

This year for the second time the Sarajevo Film Festival will award with the “Heart of Sarajevo” the best TV series from the region. A professional jury composed of 400 film professionals has selected for the competition 17 series from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia. The awards ceremony for 14 categories will take place on August 14 at the Hills Hotel in Ilidža, and will be hosted by Tarik Filipović. In collaboration with the prestigious gastronomic guide Gault&Millau Croatia, chef Orhan Cakiroglu, chef of Matsunoki restaurant in Hotel Bellevue - Mali Lošinj, Croatia - will prepare a special dinner for the guests and each course will be paired with the wines  from Saints Hills winery in Pelješac (Croatia).

Chef Orhan Cakiroglu, a native of Turkey, is a successful culinary master who gained experience in some of the world's most famous restaurants, such as Zuma and Hakkasan. He traveled from Istanbul, through the Middle East and Southeast Asia, to settle a year ago in Croatia. Orhan is the head chef of the fusion restaurant Matsunoki, in the superb Bellevue Hotel, whose quality is also recognized in the Croatian edition of the prestigious world gastronomic guide Gault&Millau, where Bellevue is included among the best hotels in Croatia. Matsunoki restaurant recently won two more valuable awards: a "Michelin plate" and the "Best of Award of Excellence" - according to the choice of the American magazine Wine Spectator. In Matsunoki restaurant Chef Orhan delights his guests with Japanese cuisine, but the flavors of Mediterranean foods have followed him in his private and professional life since childhood. He has given a modern author's stamp to the traditional Greek and Turkish specialties that his family has cooked since ever. The actresses and actors, the directors, the producers of the best TV series and all the other guests of the dinner will enjoy in chef Orhan’s culinary art, including his interpretation of the most famous traditional Middle Eastern dessert – the baklava.
