These are the last 5 extra virgin olive oils chosen by our selector Filip Erceg, one of the most famous Croatian olive oil tasters and sensory analysts, with many years of experience in evaluating oils. The twenty extra virgin olive oils that we have presented in this special series are only a small part of those present on the Croatian market. There are many more outstanding products. However through this limited but significant selection, our selector has successfully presented the different varieties of olive oil and the different regions where it is produced.

The restaurants of Zadar County are getting more and more attention in the Gault&Millau Croatia guide: a total of 30 are included in the new edition, while Foša, Griblja, Labrax Fish&Wine Bar, Restaurant Lazaret and Villa Nai 3.3 - Restaurant Grotta, were awarded 3 toques. The guide also includes eight wine tasting venues that present their best local varieties. Zadar County covers a fifth of the Croatian coast. In this region, as on the entire Mediterranean Sea, fish, wine and olive oil make the basis of every feast. Esplanade, one of the oldest hotels in Zagreb, celebrated its 100th anniversary with an impressive celebration on its legendary Oleander terrace . The elegant party, attended by prime minister, ministers, ambassadors, city mayor and numerous guests from the business and cultural life of Croatia, was a blend of the glamour of the past times, the modern present and the bright future of luxury hospitality, enriched with savory and sweet delicacies, fine wines and adorable cocktails.

At the world's most prestigious wine competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards, winemakers from the Kvarner Wines Association won 12 medals. The winemakers were congratulated on this great success by Ivica Lukanović - Mayor of Primorsko-Goranska County, Irena Peršič Živadinov - Director of the Tourist Board of Kvarner and Anton Brusić - President of the Kvarner Wines Association.
