Tea Mamut is the first Croatian pastry chef holding a degree from the Culinary Institute of America in New York City. Since a very young age, she has always dreamt of this career. She knew exactly what she wanted: a top education that would enable her to master the modern pastry techniques. In order to achieve this, she left for the USA as a very young woman, leaving behind her family, friends and her hometown. By opening her own pastry shop in her hometown of Split in May 2017, the young Tea’s dream came true. She has created a place where she can share her passion for desserts with everyone who can’t resist the sweet temptations.
O’š kolač is a small, charmingly decorated place in pastel colours that offers home-made cakes and pastries in a modern interpretation of familiar flavours combined with new ingredients. They are signature cakes whose local character is reflected both in traditional Dalmatian ingredients and their imaginative names, such as Čikolata, Tonka, Slatko o'mendula, Šinjorina Malina...
The selection of the O’š kolač pastry shop for the best Gault&Millau POP of the year may surprise many. How come we have selected a small pastry shop in Split over so many popular eateries, tapas bars, and burger places that literally mushroomed all over Croatia over the past years?
It is because the exquisite desserts are not all that O’š kolač offers to its guests, but above all, emotions.
Tea Mamut has incorporated both her love of tradition and the passion for her calling into her pastry shop, which is recognized by her guests and clients in every sweet bite they take.
