Gault&Millau's review 2026

Along the Neretva River, in the small town of Kula Norinska not far from Metković, is the Buđoni, a traditional tavern that cherishes the indigenous Neretva cuisine and increasingly rare and sought-after local specialties. The menu is based on fresh ingredients from the Neretva Valley and cooking methods faithful to old recipes, without modern culinary techniques. The restaurant is known for its frog dishes, especially the white brudet, which every connoisseur of the valley will recommend to you. The menu also includes fried frogs, as well as large Neretva prawns, appreciated for their firm texture and freshness. A special place on the menu belongs to eels, which are prepared on the grill by long and slow cooking, which makes them soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. You can also try the eel brudet, strong and rich in flavour. The tavern grows its own vegetables, which gives the dishes additional value. The menu is short, seasonal and focused on quality and a unique Neretva gourmet experience. Due to its authenticity, location and unique offer, the tavern represents a valuable gastronomic destination in southern Dalmatia.
