Oil mill The Požega-based agri-food company, which grew out of a family farm founded in 1990, is among the largest pumpkin producers. They cultivate pumpkins on around thirty hectares and produce top-quality pumpkin seed oil. Grbić’s organic and premium pumpkin seed oils, made from seeds grown under controlled conditions on the slopes of Papuk Nature Park, are highly sought after worldwide. They export to about ten countries, including the USA, Germany, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Japan, and all products carry HACCP, Halal, and kosher certifications. The family business was started by agronomist Ivan Grbić, who sowed his first fields with oil pumpkins 25 years ago. The first oils were produced in Varaždin and Međimurje counties, and they were among the first to produce virgin pumpkin seed oil. Ivan’s daughter Nives, a mechanical engineering graduate, continued his path and now runs this successful family business. Her entire life is connected to agriculture, and she also serves as president of the Croatian Pumpkin Seed Oil Producers Association.
