One of the most significant annual celebrations of premium gastronomy will be the gathering of 150 chefs and protagonists of our community who contribute to the Croatian gastronomy with their work, knowledge and dedication. The third edition of the international gastronomical guide for Croatia – Gault&Millau, which includes the best Croatian restaurants, pop places and wines, will also be promoted on this occasion.
Gault&Millau Croatia gathers an increasing number of restaurants, professionals of different age groups, stiles and preferences, and it is precisely this rich diversity that is one of the main characteristics of the global Gault&Millau community. Their approach to gastronomy is summarized in the slogan „luxury in quality, not in price “. That is exactly why the inspectors of Gault&Millau Croatia, in their search for the best of the best, focus on innovation, respect of the local tradition, knowledge of the contemporary culinary techniques and cooking with emotion. Only those restaurants and those professionals, who life gastronomy, are given to wear Gault&Millau toques.
One of them is Hrvoje Zirojević, Chef of the Year 2019, from Laganini (Steadily) Restaurant on Palmižana.
„ I wasn't hoping for the title Chef of the Year, nor was I expecting it. I love my work, I dedicate myself to it completely, I follow my vision and I work hard with my team. I respect my colleagues, but I don't compare myself to anyone, my creation on the plate is the only thing that's important. So, when such a respectable institution like Gault&Millau recognizes that work, it's a great compliment to both my team and myself. After winning the title Chef of the Year, my approach to work hasn't changed, except it got a little more recognition from my colleagues and customers. It feels good to be appreciated “
Director of Gault&Millau Croatia, Ingrid Badurina Danielsson announced that this year's guide will span across almost 500 pages, on both English and Croatian language. It will present the largest number of restaurants, pop places, wines and leading restaurants across all regions of Croatia.
