Grand Park Hotel Rovinj

Grand Park Hotel Rovinj

This latest five-star hotel promises an artistic luxury experience, wrapped in the local narrative and authentic culture.

The untouched nature, Mediterranean climate and indented coastline with its many islands, great gastronomic offer, and the unique culture and history are just some of the qualities of Rovinj, Croatia's top destination. A new, extra reason to visit this historic city is the newly opened Maistra Collection's brand flagship hotel, located opposite the Old Town of Rovinj.

The view from the hotel Grand Park Hotel Rovinj at the church of St. Euphemia and the island of St. Catherine is indeed breathtaking, but the view of the hotel is no less remarkable. The cascading structure makes the hotel visually attractive and almost blended with the landscape. The six floors of the hotel offer 193 rooms and 16 suites, some of which are up to 175 square metres in size.

It is interesting to note that the construction project of the new hotel is the fourth collaboration between Maistra and the architecture studio 3LHD, a studio that also designed Rovinj’s Hotel Lone, Hotel Adriatic and the Mulini Beach.

The large windows fill the rooms with an abundance of natural light and open the view to the fascinating and one of the most recognizable vistas in the Adriatic. Once a guest enters the Park, the feeling of familiarity and calm take over. The corridors are named after the plants from the park-forest behind the hotel, and for every guest, the hotel becomes their home away from home. For the duration of the stay, their room becomes their new address, and reads, for example, as 202 Cedar Walk.

This latest five-star hotel promises an artistic luxury experience, wrapped in the local narrative and authentic culture. On one hand, one can enjoy the art pieces displayed in many corners of the hotel, perfectly blending with its interior design. This time, the project benefits from the collaboration with the Milan studio Lissoni Architecture by Piero Lissoni - one of the most renowned and famous Italian designers, a man who defines global trends in product design and whose works are exhibited in numerous European and international museums. Lissoni’s work is known for its minimalism and special attention was given to the choice of materials in decorating the interior of the hotel.

On the other, guests are encouraged to record their own impressions and collect them for memory. Upon arrival, they receive a travel journal - both a guide to Rovinj's stories and an assemblage of their memories - and an instant photography camera. They are encouraged to store the physical photos and any other memento inside the journal, and this leather-bound notebook thus becomes their own art piece and a great memory of their stay.

The hotel is a celebration to fine dining, and guest can enjoy its six restaurants, including a signature restaurant Cap Aureo, known for its culinary explorations. Whether it is a sea food oriented marina restaurant Bitinada, a novel concept of Viva Eufemia, with contemporary food, portraying a local light flair on socialising and mingling food, or Cissa, a pool lounge on top of the hotel with an unforgettable view of the city, a guest of the hotel has a series of gastronomic and bella vita spaces to choose from. A visit to Laurel&Berry, for example, an all-day eatery uniting the nature's palette and human imagination and skill, is naturally followed by a delicious dessert and a cup of specialty coffee from Katarina’s, just a few floors below.

Yet the crowning glory of Grand Park Hotel Rovinj is Àlbaro Spa&Wellness, spanning 3,800 square metres, it is the biggest centre of its kind in Istria. It extends over two floors of the hotel, with indoor and outdoor areas, including three outdoor pools located on the top of the hotel. Three saunas and two steam rooms with a variety of temperatures with special aroma programmes, two cold plunge pools, and a shower paradise to complete the thermal circuit.

Unique experiences in the spa and wellness thermal zones are based on freshly prepared ingredients of Istria, including local botanicals, clays, and marine ingredients. From mineral rich marine muds and locally harvested sea salts, to fragrant essential oils steam distilled from coastal herbs and flowers, the divine riches of this place can be seen, smelled and tasted. One must try our signature Batana bodywork therapy or unique therapies inspired by the legendary istrian rakija (spirits) which enrobe a guest in the traditional healing medicinal herbs of this place.

While the hotel is reserved for its guests, the hotel's ground floor is a part of the town's life, available to all Rovinj's citizens and guests. It lies on the newly reconstructed Lungo Mare Plaza, the long coastal promenade that takes guests to the city centre in a nice and relaxing walk, and features many shops, bars and restaurants, including the exclusive Park Concept Store, similar to Collete Concept Store in Paris or Liberty Concept Store in London.
