Kvarner conquers the world - in film

Turistička zajednica Kvarnera bila je domaćin večere u zagrebačkom restoranu Baltazar, organizirane u suradnji s gastronomskim vodičem Gault&Millau Croatia, a povodom dodjele nagrody na Međunarodnom festivalu turistčkih filmova, koji se održava od 2. The evening was attended by Zagreb TourFilm Festival winners, film industry protagonists, journalists, advisors and business partners, who were introduced to the local cuisine and wines from the selection, which were served on different jellies. The culinary creations of the Baltazar restaurant (3 toque Gault&Millau Croatia) took turns at the tanjurima, while the evening guests had the opportunity to taste pure Kvarner prawns, sea bass, cottage cheese, grobnički sir, Goranske vrganje, maslinovo ulje and spicy bilje. The wine experience of the indigenous varieties of the Kvarner region - from Žlahtina and Muscat to Sansigot - was presented by Ines Matić Matešković and Žarko Stilin, sommeliers and ambassadors of the Kvarner Wines brand.

The unique one-stop gastronomic offer of Kvarner has now been awarded the title of European Region of Gastronomy in 2026, and the award-winning destination promotional film "Make Your Own Movie" successfully highlights and presents all Kvarner's assets: from spectacular locations for filming movies and TV series to wild nature for lovers of active holidays in summer and winter. All this, together with a multitude of good restaurants and quality wines, makes Kvarner an invariably sought-after tourist destination throughout the year.

The promotional film of the Kvarner Tourist Board is produced by Filmerija from Rijeka and Kinoteka from Zagreb. The film is directed and edited by Sanjin Stanić, written by Edi Mužina, directed by Hrvoje Franjić and starring Ivan Raffaelli. The film premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival 2023, where it was awarded the Heart of Sarajevo trophy for the best TV series of regional production, and since then has won several prestigious awards at various festivals around the world.
