As of March 1, the terraces of all the Cafe bars and restaurants in Croatia are open. They can stay open until 10 pm, and after the initial ban, they got the permission to have some light musical background. Guests are not allowed to enter the facilities, except for the need to use the toilet, in which case they must wear a mask.

According to initial estimates, 75% of cafes and restaurants have decided to open, but there are still many who could not, because they do not have a terrace or because it does not pay off financially. Although coffee lovers immediately flocked to their favorite cafes, aided by sunny weather, caterers feel that the income will not be enough to mitigate the catastrophic economic consequences of the three-month lockdown.

Restaurants are especially worried, because there will be significantly fewer guests, and those who come will not be the most comfortable to spend a few hours at the table and eat in winter conditions. After an extremely warm and sunny February, colder days have been announced. And everyone is afraid of a new closure, because of the possibilities of a new wave of epidemics, while the vaccination program is delayed. Given all these circumstances, the tourist pre-season is also questionable, especially because Easter is just around the corner and reservations are weak.

Everyone is now turning to summer with the hope that in those few months they will be able to "revive" their business.
