Gault&Millau's review 2026

Restaurant Baraž is part of Etno Farma Mirnovec, a spacious estate designed in an authentic rural style with restored wooden cottages and green meadows. At its core is an equestrian club, so the farm organizes riding lessons for all ages and experience levels, and as part of the offer after lunch, guests can enjoy horseback rides. The special value of Restaurant Baraž lies in its atmosphere: wooden interiors, rustic details, and views of the ethno estate make it ideal for family gatherings, celebrations, business lunches, or simply an escape from the city for a good food and a glass of wine. Under the leadership of Chef Zvonimir Koretić, the menu blends traditional flavors of the Samobor region with a professional approach to preparation and service. In addition to permanent dishes such as veal liver with caramelized onions, Black Angus rib eye (a quality cut of meat grilled with minimal seasoning and sauces), roasted duck, and various stews, Baraž occasionally introduces new dishes. We recommend a sous-vide venison steak with cauliflower cream and red wine sauce, and many guests praised their version of Shepherd’s Pie – known here as Baraž pie with slow-cooked veal neck, sautéed mushrooms, deglazed onions, baked in the oven with mashed potatoes and Grana Padano. The wine list is dominated by Croatian labels, the restaurant has a large parking area, and weekend reservations are recommended.
