Gault&Millau's review 2026

As the name suggests Konoba Berekin offers craft beer and local food. It is located in Lokva Rogoznica, on the road from Omiš to Makarska, right next to the road, but the position is not very visible, so we recommend an extra concentration when driving and follow the signs. The parking lot is not large, nor is the tavern. It is mandatory to reserve a table. The tavern is owned by the Kovačić family, who runs it with a lot of love, kindness and attention, which make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. The offer is focused on local ingredients, namely seasonal dishes and craft beer from their own production. The menu is diverse, including various cold and hot appetizers, fish and meat specialties prepared and served in a modern way. We chose a tuna steak, grilled to your taste, juicy, seasoned only with olive oil and salt, served with traditional Swiss chard-potatoes. The dish was beautifully presented on a wooden board and it met our expectations in every sense. We have already praised the pašticada (braised beef) with homemade gnocchi, and it still deserves compliments. This is an unmissable dish of Dalmatian cuisine with a rich flavour and is worth trying. We will also mention the homemade pasta with scampi in one word: excellent! For dessert we tried the pistachio lava cake. Beautifully presented and delicious, but dare we say too trendy, so the dessert offering has room for improvement. With a beautiful view of the sea, a lunch at Berekin is a really pleasant experience.
