Gault&Millau's review 2026

Restaurant Bocca Vera on the Lošinj waterfront, not far from the Apoxyomenos Museum, is a very popular place for several reasons. It stretches across three cascading terraces; the upper one offers magnificent views of anchored boats and the sunset. The interior is modern, the staff is quick and attentive, and the menu features pizzas as well as fish and meat dishes. In short, it’s a place for all tastes, offering plenty of flavours. For more than twenty years, it has attracted guests with its selection of fresh fish, scampi, shellfish, octopus, and lobster, expertly prepared on the grill or in other ways typical of Mediterranean cuisine, such as brodetto, buzara style, or baked in the oven with potatoes. Their own bottled olive oil and fresh bread are placed on every table to taste while waiting for ordered dishes. Among the starters we highlight tuna tartare and ravioli stuffed with shrimp, as well as a tasty but rather large portion of black risotto. If you want to try several types of seafood in one dish, we recommend their “sea trio”: sea bass fillet on sweet potato cream, gratinated scampi, and grilled scallop. Meat lovers can enjoy well-roasted, aromatic Cres lamb with potatoes or grilled lamb chops served with roasted seasonal vegetables. Bocca Vera also offers a rich selection of cocktails, beers, and wines from various Croatian wine regions, most of which are available by the glass.
