Gault&Millau's review 2026

At Brasserie on 7, the view of the sea and Split’s Riva goes hand in hand with food. This is a well-known Split refreshment stop, mostly frequented by casual travellers, locals and tourists alike, while waiting for their ferry to depart. The large terrace and the elegant interior with subdued music create a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. They are open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner which means that they are oriented towards the needs of the travellers. The menu is diverse, with dishes for meat and fish lovers, vegans and vegetarians. It offers a combination of Croatian and international specialties and trendy dishes. The main courses bring the familiar Mediterranean flavours of the buzara (the traditional Dalmatian seafood stew), grilled fish, prawn risotto, while among the meat dishes there is a good selection of steaks and burgers. The personnel are mostly friendly and nice, but sometimes slow. It’s a pity that the dining area is not clearly separated from the area where guests come just for drinks. That gives an impression of loudness and too little dedication to the guests who came to the restaurant for dinner/lunch. Don’t be surprised by the prices, which are on the higher end, due to the location. So enjoy the view on the sea and the people on the promenade.
