Sveti Klement, the largest island in the Pakleni archipelago, offers a delicate balance between two contrasting atmospheres: the lively cove of Vinogradišće and the quieter stretches around Vlaka. The latter owes its Mediterranean calm to limited accessibility - it can be reached only by private boat or on foot from Palmižana, with a demanding trek of at least an hour. In tune with this relaxed pace, Konoba Dionis sits among olive groves and vineyards. Housed in a charming stone building overlooking the sea, it feels like being welcomed into a family living room in the open air. A terrace adorned with colourful potted plants and the laid-back ambiance reinforce the sense of intimacy and calm. The menu, while simple, follows the island’s culinary philosophy: unpretentious dishes prepared with care and rooted in Mediterranean tradition. Dionis’s signature dish is the eggplant pie with homemade sauce, prepared in the style of traditional island recipes, while another standout is the octopus salad, offering an unexpected freshness thanks to slices of apple that add crunch and subtle sweetness, balancing the maritime flavours. Other highlights include grilled fish, octopus, and lamb cooked under the peka (baking bell), which must be ordered in advance. With only a few tables available, reservations are essential, particularly during the high season. Dionis consistently values authenticity and simplicity, offering fair prices given the location, atmosphere, and quality of the food.
