A Baroque palace in the centre of Vukovar, which belonged to the Paunović family in the late 19th century, is today a restored cultural landmark housing an attractive hotel, café bar, and restaurant. Particularly striking is the spiral staircase with black stylized railings and lavish chandeliers, which leads to the upper floor where the restaurant is located. The space exudes the spirit of elegant salons and is designed as a blend of modern and retro elements. The menu offers numerous flavour combinations – from small dishes such as pâtés to pasta, ciabatta, soups, and meat and fish specialties – together making for a rather hearty lunch. Well known are their braised veal cheeks, game and wild mushroom ragù, and Slavonian sauté of pork tenderloin, while the Beef Philly Ciabatta with onion, pepper, and cheddar cheese wins praise for its excellent and imaginatively cut fried potatoes. Alongside various beers, you can enjoy Kutjevo and Ilok graševina wines, and a major asset of this restaurant is its terrace, which provides pleasant shade during periods of intense heat.
