When Lošinj restaurateurs want to relax over dinner and gather a group of friends, they go to El Passo Grill & Bar located by the Lošinj airport. It’s hard to imagine a better recommendation for a restaurant than that. Of course, the opinions of tourists and other guests who are delighted with the ambiance, food quality, and prices - are important, but on an island known for its rich restaurant scene, standing out is a great achievement. El Passo does so at first glance: it is vibrantly decorated, with chairs, plates, tablecloths, vases, and other details bursting with colour. The staff is busy yet composed, and it’s equally pleasant to sit inside or on the shaded terrace surrounded by greenery. The menu is extremely long, you might give up after just reading the grill section, whose irresistible aroma fills the restaurant. Generous platters of minced meat patties, chicken skewers wrapped in bacon, sausages, and pork neck - are perfect for sharing. Particularly delicious is the burger with cured pork neck and cheese. In addition to the grill, where fish and squid are also prepared, the menu includes wok dishes with chicken, rump steak, or seafood, various pastas, hearty salads, and pizzas. A solid selection of wines from local wineries and standard beers round out the gastronomic experience. Don’t expect to get a table without a reservation.
