The café and pastry shop across from the Waldinger Hotel is a favourite gathering place for locals, who enjoy its pleasant atmosphere and top-quality desserts well into the late evening hours. As the first pastry shop in Slavonia to offer online ordering, it has become synonymous with modern cakes and pastries, with couverture chocolate – high in cocoa and very low in sugar – as a key ingredient. Alongside classics such as Sacher, Dobos, and Schwartzwald cake, the large display case features Kinder, Waldinger, and Caramel cakes, as well as the especially striking Vegan cake made with cocoa, butter, brown sugar, and soy milk, filled with raspberries. If you enjoy the combination of vanilla, whipped cream, and chocolate, the Strauss cube is an excellent choice, recalling the flavour and texture of the ice cream of the same name. Always-smiling waiters in charming, colourful bow ties serve these delights on attractive black-and-white plates. Prices are somewhat higher, but the flavours and the overall experience are unforgettable.
