Grota is a legendary Rovinj “hot spot”, a gathering place for locals and regular visitors of this beautiful Istrian town. Located at the entrance to the town, next to the local market, Grota is the place for aperitifs and small bites, cold cuts and cheese, served with homemade bread and olive oil. The interior of Grota is miniature. There is only a large, old-fashioned wooden bar, but here, anyway, everything takes place outdoors at any time of the year. There is no classic terrace with tables, but in front of the entrance and opposite the large tables of the market, there are colourful barrels and a few high bar stools around which gather the guests. In Grota they offer classic aperitifs such as Aperol and Campari Spritz, various cocktails, and local wines. Guests mostly drink wine and prosecco with the Grota label. A friendly and skilled waitress will always welcome you nicely and serve you quickly even when it is the busiest. It is cheerful and fun to watch passers-by. When you are in Rovinj, you should not miss Grota.
