Gault&Millau's review 2026
Selected
From the location in the city center, a lively space with about twenty seats, (too) loud music and an informal atmosphere - everything creates a backdrop for a free journey through the flavors of world cuisines, offered by Kai Street Food. The sources of inspiration are Japan, Thailand, Mexico, India, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, but the dishes are not literal interpretations of traditional dishes from these countries. The menu includes meat, fish and vegetarian options, and among the dishes that illustrate Kai's style well, the soft Bao Buns with slow-cooked beef, smoked cheese, kimchi and pickled vegetables stand out, then Pork Tacos (pork, cream of cheese and corn, salsa macha and toppings) and Falafel Salad, a vegetarian dish that combines Middle Eastern, Mexican and Asian influences. There are also two dishes with tuna, for example, tuna tartare with crispy tacos. The menu, therefore, is not extensive (they offer fried sweet potatoes, sauce, or mayo and kimchi), and so is the offer of drinks. Craft beers and selected wines can be ordered with food, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Kai Street Food is open from Tuesday to Saturday, while it is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
