Gault&Millau's review 2026

Kod Marka is bustling throughout the summer season. This tavern on the southern side of Šipanska Luka, founded by Marko Prizmić and now run by his son Đino, is known for top-quality fish and seafood prepared in a straightforward, traditional way. It is a favorite stop for sailors exploring the Elaphiti Islands as well as for locals who appreciate honest home-style cooking. Starters include Dalmatian prosciutto and a platter of local cheeses, or Marko’s seafood cocktail – a creative mix of seafood served with a special house sauce. For lovers of pure sea flavors, fresh sea urchin seasoned with just a few drops of lemon juice offers a memorable experience. Fresh fish is the tavern’s hallmark and is usually grilled with olive oil and Mediterranean herbs. “Crabs Marko-style” are prepared in a rich sauce of olive oil, wine, and herbs. For those who prefer meat, the menu also offers beefsteak, rustic pork fillet, lamb chops, and veal cutlet. Although the indoor dining room is small, in summer guests naturally gravitate to the terrace overlooking the bay.
