Konoba Valle Losca feels like a place where time slows down and the experience of food returns to its essential roots. Stone walls, wooden beams, and carefully selected rustic details create a genuinely authentic atmosphere. There is no need for pretension here, the space and the aromas from the kitchen already tell the story. While the drink selection focuses on local producers, the menu is oriented toward the sea, with a touch of creativity that doesn’t compromise its local identity. Right from the start, the tuna platter sets the tone in an intriguing way. Tuna prosciutto, confit tuna, and carpaccio are elevated by freshly grated horseradish, which gives the dish character and a note that lingers in memory. The marinated dogfish, served with beans and arugula, shows the kitchen’s understanding of balance: the dish is complete, with a focus on texture and contrast. The gregada was a flavourful and well-executed interpretation of a classic, while the amberjack fillet and tuna steak were technically very well prepared and free of unnecessary intervention. Still, the dish that truly stands out and defines the entire experience is the ravioli with prawns and asparagus. The flavours are cohesive, light, and well-rounded, with a level of elegance that goes beyond what one might expect from a traditional konoba (tavern). Valle Losca does not compete with trends, and that is precisely its strength. They cook with restraint, rely on quality ingredients, and allow them to shine.
