After visiting the Plitvice Lakes, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful nature, it is worth taking a break and refreshing yourself with a meal and a drink at the Lička kuća restaurant. It is one of the longest-standing catering establishments in the Park and is a regular stop for visitors who come from all over the world. The restaurant was built in the spirit of the region, with a rustic interior that provides warmth and an authentic ethnic atmosphere. The central space is dominated by an open fireplace on which some meat dishes are prepared. The cuisine is based on the traditions of Lika region and local ingredients, which are purchased from nearby farms, so it is not surprising that lamb and potatoes occupy an important place on the menu. You can taste the lamb under a baking bell, on a spit, and in several variations of traditional-modern recipes. The offer also includes beef and veal dishes, as well as homemade sausages and Lika classics such as sauerkraut with meat, potatoes prepared in various ways, and hearty goulash. Praise goes to the homemade bread and cream served at the beginning of the meal. We cannot single out any dish in particular, but we can say that they were all delicious, prepared in a professional manner without excess or lack of spices, and the portions were large enough. We sweetened ourselves with fragrant and warm apple and cheese strudels. Lika House cherishes the cultural heritage, but with a modern presentation, while the flavours remain recognizable and authentic. Parking is provided. The restaurant is closed in the winter months, so we recommend checking the National Park website.
