Gault&Millau's review 2026
Selected
In the warm months, during the morning hours and in the afternoon, the terrace of the Magnolia pastry shop in the Kaptol Center is always full. Of course, lovers of good coffee and fine desserts gather here, but it is also a place where you can hold an informal business meeting in a pleasant environment, and moms with children can enjoy coffee because the little ones can play freely on the spacious plateau in front of the pastry shop. The interior is in pastel colors and resembles a greenhouse, so it is constantly illuminated by daylight. In addition to desserts such as fine colorful macarons and brownies, Magnolia also offers a daily selection of cakes, from fruity ones, such as Ice Wind to chocolate cake and carrot cake. All of them are beautifully displayed in the showcase, so you can choose the one that attracts you the most. Although they don't have classic croissants, they have introduced a salty sandwich croissant, with ham and cheese, which disappears very quickly. The Magnolia pastry shop operates in three more locations in the city, from the prestigious space in the central Gundulićeva Street, to those on Radnička cesta and Trešnjevka. It was in Trešnjevka that the first Magnolia was opened, back in 2013, and was founded by mother and daughter, Rosanda Jelinić and Jasmina Bagarić. Today, their business is well developed, and you can also order your favorite cakes and pastries via e-mail, or delivery.
