A tour of Osijek’s Tvrđa is best started with a hearty English breakfast at this popular bar-restaurant, which also features a terrace with about twenty tables overlooking the Baroque heart of the city. Food is served here from morning until evening. At noon, it’s time for brunch – for instance, a pastrami sandwich for two, or a Nordic brunch sandwich on Danish rye bread with salmon fillet, cream cheese, and capers. Omelettes and burgers with a wide range of toppings are also great choices. For something sweet, indulge in American pancakes with Nutella or pistachio. If you’re only after coffee, there are around ten varieties available, including decaffeinated espresso. With your meal, you can enjoy a glass of wine from labels by the Josić and Franković wineries, or from the Orahovica-based Martin Albus brand. For more special occasions, sparkling wines and champagne are also available. The beer selection is classic – both on tap and bottled – while cocktails are particularly popular with the female clientele. The interior combines wood, red and blue velvet, metal accents, and interesting lampshades, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.
