Gault&Millau's review 2026

Milna Bay is one of the most beautiful daytime spots near the town of Hvar. Its beach and turquoise waters attract numerous excursion boats, yet despite the summer bustle, Milna has preserved the authentic charm of a fishing village, where local families have run hospitality businesses for generations. One of these is konoba Moli Onte, meaning Little Ante in the local dialect, which for more than 30 years has been a popular stop for both boaters and guests arriving by road. The restaurant features a simple, understated interior that lets the natural setting take centre stage. Terraced seating leads down to a lower level where guests can dine just a few metres from the sea. The menu caters to a broad range of tastes, but its real strength lies in Mediterranean seafood: fish prepared in various ways, scampi and shellfish, octopus and squid. A top recommendation is to ask for the catch of the day or to share the generous brodetto, a traditional fish stew. A well-chosen wine list and professional service complete the relaxed, seaside experience.
