Located in the city centre, Lu restaurant combines traditional and modern elements not only in its interior design but also on the menu, bringing together Slavonian tradition with international culinary trends, fast food, and burgers. Among the most popular dishes are burgers served in homemade brioche buns, with a variety of sauces, which are also offered alongside aged Spanish, Argentine, and Australian steaks. For a starter, we chose a very good beef carpaccio, served with arugula, capers, and Parmesan. The main course – neck of Black Slavonian pig – was perfectly roasted and seasoned, melting in the mouth. On the recommendation of the friendly personnel, we also tried the chicken in a wrap, which is actually a deboned drumstick stuffed with cheese and bacon, wrapped in a thin dough, served with pljukanci pasta and a vegetable sauce. It is a rich and flavourful dish. A dessert consisting of a white chocolate sphere, sour cherry compote, peanuts, ice cream, and hot chocolate sauce is very filling and can easily be shared by two people. For vegetarians, the restaurant offers dishes such as a tortilla with corn, avocado, Greek yogurt, and green salad, as well as beet risotto. The wine list includes quality Slavonian wines and French champagnes, while for more demanding guests, cigars are also available. With good food, moderate prices, and professional, welcoming service, Restaurant Lu stands out as a reliable choice for an enjoyable dining experience.
