The enchanting ambiance of the Ribarska kućica (The Fisherman’s House) will remain in your memory for a long time. The restaurant is located on a small cape, overlooking the beautiful Dominican monastery and the nice pebble beach, below the former hotel Bijela kuća, which has unfortunately been closed for years. The tables are located by the sea, some on a platform on the rocks, and the rest on two terraces covered with umbrellas and protected by the crown of tamarisk trees. There is also a spacious interior with large tables and a bar. It attracts many guests and swimmers, so it is mandatory to reserve a table. There is a barbecue at the very entrance to the terrace, and the tempting smells of grilled meat will immediately whet your appetite. The friendly waiters are constantly rushing from table to table, but sometimes the crowd distracts them from their work. The menu has not changed for several years, and it is still extensive. After the classic, delicious octopus salad, we tried homemade gnocchi in blue crab sauce, a dish of delicate flavours and a nice blend of soft gnocchi and sweet crab meat. We were delighted with the grilled monkfish tails, three pieces of white meat from the monkfish tail, with firm texture and a special taste of the fish grilled on a real open fire grill. They were excellent, just like the grilled vegetables. Their homemade bread is also good, but you should know that they charge extra for it, although the prices of the food are very reasonable. We took the house wine, but they have a quality wine list that includes wines from all over Croatia. If you are in Bol, you should not miss this unique experience of fine food and a wonderful atmosphere.
