Gault&Millau's review2026
When Zagreb residents think of fast, proven good and affordable Asian food, the first thing that comes to the mind of most of them is Saralee’s Thai Street Food. The founder Saralee Madnui, who came to Croatia from Thailand for love, started her Croatian culinary story with cooking classes, then opened a small kiosk in front of the Importanne Gallery and finally - a bistro on Crvenog Križa Street. The menus are almost the same at both locations, only the prices in the bistro are slightly higher: they are divided into the categories of wok & fried, soup & curry, snack & salad, and there are also desserts and a few original, Thai drinks. The main star on both menus is Pad Thai, the most famous Thai dish - not too spicy, and offering the perfect balance of sweet, salty and sour flavours. It is offered in versions with shrimp, tofu and chicken - which is also the most popular. Saralee occasionally refreshes its menu with new dishes, such as Pad Kee Mao, a spicy rice noodle dish with broccoli, kale, carrots, peas and Chinese ginger. This dish also comes in chicken, veal, prawns and tofu versions. Prices range from 3.5 Euros for starters to 12 Euros for main courses.
