Gourmet Restaurant
The legendary restaurant with the most beautiful view of the city, has preserved the charm of old times in its appearance. At the foot of Sljeme, or Medvednica Mountain, it is located at the entrance to the forest and the starting point of popular hiking trails towards the top. The interior of the restaurant, with large booths in the shape of wooden barrels, is not particularly attractive, but the spacious terrace with red umbrellas, Šestine tablecloths with white tablecloths, offers a spectacular panorama: from the nearby green hills to the whole of Zagreb, everything is in the palm of your hand. The service of experienced waiters of the old school will pleasantly surprise you. Professional and friendly to the right extent, they will offer you their traditional local dishes, such as barbecue, duck with mlinci, Zagreb steak. The decoration on the plates is also from some old times: a leaf of lettuce or red radicchio, a carrot ring... We tasted the classic ćevapčići with kaymak, which should be ordered separately. Regardless of the unimaginative presentation, the dish was delicious, and the meat remained juicy. We are pleased that, after several years, the food offer in Šestinski lagvić has improved. The Zagreb steak was also good, with a firm golden crust. The grilled vegetables were seasonal: zucchini, red pepper and tomato. We couldn't miss the cherry strudel either. Freshly baked, with crispy dough and stuffed with sour cherries, it rounded off this traditional Zagreb lunch. Visit them on beautiful days when you can enjoy it on the terrace.
