Slavonska kuća Vinkomir is the most beautiful restaurant of the “Golden Valley”, named after a vineyard site on the southern slopes of Mount Krndija. The simple building, surrounded by sun-kissed vineyards, feels like a fairytale as you approach it. In fine weather, you can taste modern interpretations of traditional Slavonian dishes and premium wines on the terrace, which offers a magical view over the valley. The restaurant interior radiates harmony, with a special warmth created by subtle lighting and wooden furniture. The staff is young, cheerful, and professional, while the menu is dominated by game specialties sourced from their own hunting grounds. It would be a shame not to begin the feast with a generous winegrower’s plate of smoked ham, kulen, game sausages and pork chips, or a plate of local Pannonian cheeses served with walnuts and oak honey. The chicken roux soup with liver dumplings, enriched with premium Graševina wine and sour cream, is well worth tasting. Among the game dishes, standouts include pheasant-stuffed rolls and venison Wellington – a fillet wrapped in puff pastry, spread with kulen, served with celery purée, jus and juniper. Lovers of veal, lamb, duck, and perlinka (local guinea fowl) will also be delighted by the range of culinary creations. For dessert, indulge in an excellent pear tart and roasted apple ice cream. Each dish is accompanied by wine recommendations from the Kutjevo cellar, carefully matched to the bold food flavours. This well-rounded gastronomic story is a unique experience of the rich flavours of the region.
