Walking through the cobblestone streets of the old town of Pag, you will come to the main square where Trapula Wine & Cheese Bar is located. It is a place to enjoy top-quality cheeses, Dalmatian snacks and wines, while from the terrace you can observe the rhythm of the city, the beautiful Church of the Assumption of Mary and the Rector’s Palace. We spent the evening tasting the cheeses on offer, excellent salty and marinated anchovies and olives. The wine list offers domestic and foreign varieties; sparkling, dry and dessert wines, and our recommendation is Gegić - a local indigenous variety. The sweet offer includes, for example, the baškotini (a type of hard pastry made according to a secret recipe by the nuns of the Benedictine monastery of St. Margaret) with cottage cheese and sage honey, Pag štrike with almonds and walnuts, sweet specialties of the island of Pag that we would like to see on the menus of Pag restaurants. Summer evenings are complemented by live jazz music, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, ideal for enjoying the authentic flavours of Pag.
