Trattoria Tinel is located in the old Split district of Varoš, in the very centre of the city and just few minutes walk from the Riva. The restaurant is decorated in a warm, Mediterranean style with stone walls and antique details. The cosy, homely atmosphere is reminiscent of a living room. It also has a particularly pleasant terrace in the back courtyard. The menu offers fish and meat dishes, homemade pasta in sauces, risottos, soups, salads and daily desserts. You can also stop by Tinel for breakfast and choose a fruit smoothie, an omelette, fried eggs or sandwiches. A special place on the menu is occupied by the traditional Dalmatian specialties such as pašticada (braised beef) with homemade gnocchi, grilled lamb, gregada (fish stew), cuttlefish with broad beans and octopus goulash, which we particularly liked. The menu is slightly adapted to the season, and the portions are generous and prepared from fresh ingredients. The prices are moderate and affordable and the restaurant is open all year round. The personnel are very friendly and will be happy to present the menu and chat with you. Tinel is suitable for a peaceful and delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere, both for local guests coming for brunch and for tourists and visitors to Split who want to taste the authentic Dalmatian cuisine.
